Located in Historic Open Square

Homage is located inside Open Square, a historic mill complex in Holyoke, Massachusetts, with roots dating back to 1848. Once home to textile manufacturing, the mills have been reimagined for a new generation of businesses and entrepreneurs.

Today, Open Square is home to a diverse community of more than 40 businesses spanning the arts, wellness, bridal and floral design, technology, education, healthcare, professional services, manufacturing, and more. We are honored to be a  part of such a diverse community.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • All studio rentals can be booked directly through our online calendar. Select the amount of time you need, choose an available date and time, and complete your reservation online. Your rental is confirmed once booking and payment are complete.

  • Your rental time includes your setup, session, breakdown, and cleanup. We recommend giving yourself a little breathing room rather than booking only the exact amount of shooting time you anticipate needing.

  • Yes. Homage offers hourly rentals as well as extended and full-day rental options for longer sessions, content days, mini sessions, productions, and creative projects.

Booking

  • Homage was created primarily as a photography and creative studio. The space can be rented for portrait sessions, branding sessions, boudoir, maternity and newborn photography, content creation, styled shoots, mini sessions, workshops, and other small professional or creative gatherings.

    For uses outside of a traditional photoshoot, please contact us before booking so we can make sure the studio is the right fit.

  • No. Booking Homage reserves the studio space only. Photographers and other creative professionals book the studio independently for their own clients.

    If you’re looking to have your own session photographed at Homage, we’re happy to point you toward photographers who use the space.

  • Your rental includes access to the studio and its available furnishings, styling pieces, and designated shooting areas. The studio is intentionally furnished so you can create multiple looks within one space.

  • Absolutely. Much of the studio was selected with versatility in mind. Furniture and movable styling pieces may be rearranged carefully during your rental. Before leaving, everything should be returned to its original location.

    Please do not drag furniture across the floors.

  • Yes. Homage is designed as a furnished natural-light rental studio rather than a fully equipped photography rental house. Photographers should plan to bring their own cameras, lighting, stands, modifiers, triggers, and any specialized equipment needed for their session.

The Space

  • Homage is located inside Open Square in Holyoke. Detailed arrival, parking, and studio-access instructions will be provided before your reservation.

    Please share arrival instructions with anyone attending your session, but do not publicly post or distribute any private studio access information.

  • Your access begins at the exact start time of your reservation. Please account for unloading, setup, client arrival, shooting, cleanup, and packing within your reserved time.

    If you need additional setup time, we recommend adding it when booking rather than arriving early.

  • Some extended rentals may include arrangements for earlier or later access. Because building access can differ outside normal hours, any special access instructions will be provided directly to the renter before the reservation.

Arrival & Access

Your Rental

  • Yes. Homage is meant to be used collaboratively. Photographers may bring their clients, assistants, hair and makeup artists, stylists, videographers, and other professionals involved in their session.

    Larger productions, workshops, or gatherings should be approved in advance.

  • Yes. Music is welcome at a reasonable volume. Homage is located within a shared professional building, so music and other noise should not be audible outside the studio with the door closed.

  • Light food and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome when appropriate for your rental. Please clean up all food, drinks, containers, and spills before leaving.

    Alcohol is not permitted.

  • Yes! Homage is pet-friendly and we love when four-legged family members make an appearance.

    For the safety of your pet and the studio, pets must remain supervised and may not roam freely throughout the space. Renters are responsible for cleaning up after any animals brought into the studio.

    Any accidents, excessive cleaning, or damage to furniture, décor, or the studio will be charged to the card on file as a cleaning, repair, or replacement fee.

  • We simply ask that you leave Homage as you found it. Please dispose of trash, clean up spills, return furniture and styling pieces to their original locations, and take all personal belongings and session materials with you.

    Your cleanup must be completed within your reserved rental time.

  • We know accidents can happen. Renters are responsible for damage caused to the studio, furnishings, décor, or property during their reservation. Any necessary repair, replacement, or excessive cleaning costs may be charged to the card on file.

  • You’re welcome to bring styling pieces or décor for your shoot, but anything that could damage the walls, floors, furnishings, or studio should be approved beforehand. No permanent adhesives, nails, screws, paint, or alterations to the space are permitted.

  • No. Homage is a smoke-free and vape-free studio. Smoking or vaping of any kind is not permitted inside the studio or elsewhere inside the building.

Cleaning & Care

  • We understand that plans can change. Each reservation includes one complimentary reschedule when requested at least 7 days prior to your reserved date.

    Reschedule requests made within 7 days of your reservation are subject to a rescheduling fee and availability. Reservations are non-refundable, and any new date must be selected based on current studio availability.

  • Studio rental payments reserve a specific block of time and are therefore non-refundable. When sufficient notice is provided, eligible reservations may be transferred to a new date according to our rescheduling policy.

  • Please keep a close eye on your reservation time and factor in setup, breakdown, and any necessary cleaning within your booking. Additional time is subject to availability and may result in an additional rental charge.
